Competition entry for the Organisation for the Unification of the Archaeological Spaces of Athens, for the regeneration of Theatre Place in the centre of the city.
Theatre Square has become run-down and is perceived as being unsafe. Landlords are reluctant to invest in creating attractive housing stock so families and professionals find the area unattractive.
Our proposal is to regenerate the Fruit and Vegetable Market by recreating a covered Market Square which would connect Theatre Place to the busy Athinas Street and the Meat Market.
